Emergency care: know when to take your pet

Emergency care

Living with our animals, we end up acquiring the notion of perceiving when they are well and when there is a problem. However, it is often not easy to identify whether the occurrence may or may not be a case of emergency care.

Check out some signs that your pets may show that will let you know the problem cannot wait and you need to run to the vet:

Trouble breathing

In some cases, this may seem normal due to the animal’s breed. However, it is extremely necessary to be aware when this difficulty is something unusual, as it may indicate pulmonary edema.

Vomiting and diarrhea

Although not all cases are emergencies, you should be concerned if the animal is very young or has a chronic illness, if there is blood in the vomit or feces, or if the symptoms persist for more than 24 hours.

Tremors or excessive salivation

These symptoms may indicate poisoning or intoxication. Immediately seek a veterinarian’s help.

Other signs

Other events require emergency medical attention and referral, such as: bleeding, fractures, being run over or car accidents, fainting, and seizures.

We know that these situations can be difficult, but try to remain calm to help calm your animals, do not medicate them on your own and seek help as soon as possible.
