Dr. Shimp
Medical Director
Dr. Joni Shimp is a seasoned veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, surgery, and animal behavior. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University and is the founder of the Cape Fear Raptor Center, the largest raptor rehabilitation facility in Southeastern North Carolina. As a practice owner, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in veterinary medicine, client care, and operational management.
Dr. Da Silva
Emergency Veterinarian
University of São Paulo, Brazil. She graduated in 2000 and worked as a small animal soft tissue surgeon at the University's Teaching Hospital for 10 years before validating her degree in the US through the ECFVG-AVMA process. She has a special interest in veterinary surgery.
Dr. Massa
Emergency Veterinarian
Dr Massa graduated from St George’s University in 2019 after finishing her clinical year at University of Florida. She has been working in Emergency Medicine ever since, with interests in surgery, ultrasound, and exotics medicine.
Dr. Martínez
Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Martínez, originally from Colombia, came to Florida for her master's at the University of Florida. After that, she did the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates program and became a licensed vet in 2010. With two emergency-focused internships, she's now trained in emergency and critical care through residency.
Dr. Pulido
Emergency Veterinarian
Originally from Colombia. Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Florida and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne in Australia in 2017. Dr. Pulido has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine.
Dr. Sanchez
Veterinary
Dr. Sanchez was born in Mérida, Venezuela. In 2011 Dr. Sanchez graduated at the top of her class with a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Zulia, Venezuela. Dr. Sanchez spent the first few years of her professional career working with prize-winning racehorses. In 2017 Dr. Sanchez moved to Ocala, Florida, and has been working with small animals ever since.

We are always ready to serve you with the following services: Emergency, urgent care, critical care, surgery and specialty resources.
And order to accomplish that, we have a diagnostic center with tomography, x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiography, electrocardiography, hematology and urinalysis, besides a large and comfortable hospitalization sector and two surgical centers. The offices are designed and developed for the clients' comfort. A generous, wooded outdoor area was developed for dogs to have a place to relax with their owners during visits.
Our entire environment is prepared and equipped with what your pet needs, at the time it needs it; we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
